Mrs. Ray, 88, Taken by Death - Former resident here succumbs in Shelbyville - Services in New Point Sunday - Mrs. Cassie Ellen Ray, 88, a former resident of Greensburg, passed away at 9 a.m. today at the home of her grandson Harry Tingle, 1421 Shelby Street, Shelbyville. She was born on Oct. 2, 1851 in Ripley County, the daughter of William and Emarine Culver Higdon, and was married to George Ray, who preceded her May 4, 1911. A daughter, Mrs. Sam (Roxanna) Riley, preceded her mother November 28, 1938. Surviving are the grandson, Harry Tingle, a step-granddaughter, Mrs. Mary White of Greensburg, and two great-grandchildren, Mae Louise Dunn and Robert Tingle, both of Shelbyville. Mrs. Ray was a member of the Greensburg Christian Church and the Greensburg Rebekah Lodge. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the New Point Christian Church, with the Rev. K.E. Thorne of Greensburg, officiating. Burial will be in Rossburg Cemetery. The body was removed to the Howe funeral home, where friends may call until 12 o'clock Sunday.
