Mrs. Wanda Sue Faust Lanier, age 58, died Monday, August 25, 2014, at her home in Memphis, TN. The funeral service will be held Thursday August 28, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Dr. David Ard officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Rest Cemetery in Oxford, MS. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Born in Memphis, TN, to Walter Quay and Eva Mae Faust, Mrs. Lanier was a graduate of Memphis State University and was employed as a business system advisor at Federal Express. She was a member of Everett Memorial United Methodist Church in Memphis, TN and was a faithful volunteer, serving on the board for The Dream Factory, a nonprofit organization that grants dreams to critically and chronically ill children. In addition she also assisted with meals at the Ronald McDonald House through Longstreet United Methodist Church. Wanda never had children of her own but many people considered her a second mother earning her the nickname "Aunt Wanda" to 28 grateful children whom she shepherded through childhood and are now adults. She was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her mother, Mae Gaines Faust of Memphis, TN.
