Debbie Dee Beazer Porter of Syracuse, Utah passed away peacefully in her home the evening of August 20, 2014 at the age of 59, after a long battle with cancer. She was born June 29, 1955 in Ogden, Utah to Gary and Norma Beazer.

Debbie married Kevin Porter on May 14, 1974 in the Manti Temple, and they recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Kevin was her knight in shining armor, Steed and all, to the very end.

Debbie dedicated her life to raising her four children and had a gift for creating family traditions filled with lasting memories. She loved to have family get-togethers full of food and fun. She was a wonderful cook and expert shopper. She loved to go camping and boating (she is a Beazer after all) and also enjoyed a bit of pampering by getting her hair and nails done regularly. Debbie enjoyed reading and crocheting. She loved spoiling her grandkids and pulling out their loose teeth. She was a treasure hunter and experienced joke critic.

Debbie developed her mothering skills by practicing on her 3 younger siblings, who became her closest friends. She also had dear lifelong friends, her book club of 24 years. They all came to visit her the day before she passed away, and her brother Guy was able to arrange a long visit with her just the Friday before. Her sweet husband, all of their kids, her mom, and sister Ginger got to spend time with Debbie and express their love and appreciation for her mere hours before she returned to her Heavenly Father.

Debbie belongs to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She taught her children how to magnify church callings through her example. She served in many callings including Relief Society President, Primary President, Primary Secretary, Young Women's Advisor, Camp Director/Cook, and her declared "favorite," teaching Primary with her husband! She has a strong testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ and of Heavenly Father's plan. We are a forever family.

Debbie is survived by her husband Kevin Porter; her four children and their spouses: Amy Dickie (Brent), Misty Black (David), Erin Valentin (Jorge), and Andrew Porter (Karlee); her eleven grandchildren: Reilly Hossner, Michaela Dickie, Savanna Dickie, Paige Black, Audrey Valentin, Bridger Dickie, Preston Black, Grace Valentin, Adam Dickie, Elizabeth Valentin, and Priya Black; her mother Norma Beazer, and siblings Ginger Johnson (Steve), Guy Beazer (Colleen), and the late Sandi Glauser (Lynn). Her father Gary Beazer and sister Sandi Glauser precede her in death.

Debbie's children would like to thank generous ward members and neighbors, Mom and Dad's Home Teachers and Visiting Teachers for giving endless service and compassion. The staff and Doctors of Huntsman Cancer Hospital, the nurses and therapists of Thatcherbrook Rehabilitation Center, Mountain Land Therapy, Mom's home health nurses and Dad's work staff for making it possible for him to be away from work and take care of Mom. Also we are so grateful for Mom and Dad's siblings & spouses, and Grandma Beazer for their encouragement and support of our parents and most especially we are grateful for our Dad. She was his mission, he knew and all who supported him knew it. Taking care of mom was a full-time commitment. He was an amazing and selfless caregiver to Mom. He is an example of marital commitment and Christ-like love towards a spouse. We couldn't ask for better parents. We love you both so much!
