Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Bill Ware, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40.
Karen was born July 17, 1941, in Crowell to Everett Lee and Jewell Elizabeth Lavvorn. She graduated from Amarillo High School and married Lewis Owens in 1958. Lewis passed away in 1999 and Karen then married Harold Ratliff in 2000. She was a meter maid for several years for Amarillo Police Department. Karen enjoyed sewing, fishing, cooking and was a cake decorator for more than 25 years. Her life was her family and grandkids. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be truly missed.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Terry Lynn Owens; and a sister, Patricia Richardson.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Ratliff; four sons, Lydell Owens and wife Pat of Canyon, David Lee Ratliff and wife Karin of St. Louis, Damen Ratliff and wife Michelle of Amarillo and Cody Owens and wife Kate of Fort Irwin, Calif; a brother, Gaylend Vessels and wife Linda of Amarillo; and four grandchildren, Tyler, Grace, Eryn and Allison Owens.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Karen’s memorial fund at Amarillo National Bank.
Visitation will be from 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
