August was born on January 3, 1886 in Taylor County. His parents were Fred Reinke, Sr. and Mina Reinke. The brother Frederick Jr. and his parents had immigrated in 1881 from Ger.
His five siblings included several known: brother, Frederick, Jr. born 1878 in Ger. who worked at Camp B in Taylor, who married Ida Reinolt in Whittlesey, Taylor County, in 1904. His younger brother Carl was born in 1891 and Erna Reinke was born 1894 in Whittlesey, Taylor. The family lived in Chelsea/Greenwood towns in 1900, with two siblings who were not living in the home.
Whittlesey, Taylor Co., Wisconsin was the location where his parents passed in 1914 according to records being frozen to their deaths.
He, his brother and father worked as laborers in Chelsea B Yard, Taylor County, Wisconsin. He met his wife, Anna Reinolt, daughter of Josef and Carolina nee Dressel Reinolt.
They married and together moved to Chicago, Illinois. They lived on W. 27th St. and relocated to Lowe Ave. where their children were born- Edward, Myrtle and William(Bill). Brother Bill's children Robert, Richard, Joan, Donald and Gerald were his five nephews/niece along with Edwards' son, Gerald.
August worked as a teamster in Chicago, Ill . He did relocate in the 1930-40s.August and Anna lived for
sometime in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. His granddaughter, Dolores(Lowry) spent many summers together making jellies, jams and learning to bake with wife Anna.
August and Anna lived in their ranch home near Mercy Hospital for a number of years in Janesville, Wisconsin where his hobbies in woodwork/shell designs were so numerous being throughout his home and in his yard.
His children all lived into their adult years in Janesville, WI. with his wife preceeding him in death after a prolonged illness in 1962.
He was survived by his children and ten grandchildren, (William's)Gerald, Bob, Bill, Donald, Joan(Dahlk), Gerald-(Edwards only child)Reinke , Dolores, Marilyn, Barbara, Deanna Birkholz and 28 known great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren to follow with his roots. He and his wife had their funerals at First Luth. Church and he joined his wife eternally in1973.
