Herman had 8 siblings. He was the youngest of the 9 children, six of whom were born from 1890-1895 in Chicago, Ill. and in Zeda, WI. The family moved to Warrens, WI. for a short time and then moved to the town of Grant, Monroe County, WI.
He grew up on a farm in Janesville, WI. By 1910 the three oldest had moved away from home to work or marry.
Herman met and married his beloved wife Myrtle Reinke. They married in Chicago, Ill. Together they had four daughers, Dolores, Marilyn, Barbara, and Deanna-
Herman worked for his adult years in the auto industry in Janesville, Wi. He had an intense interest in baseball, listening often on the radio many days as he prepared for his workdays. He enjoyed vegetable/fruit gardening with several locations of big gardens -Lynn St,especially on Yuba St. and Concord Dr.
He had enjoyable travels to Florida in his later years with Myrtle.
He was laid to rest after struggles with health issues shortly before his death. He was blessed with 17 grandchildren and twin great granddaughters/Holly and Heather Keen in 1979, 3 great grandsons,2 great granddaughters before his death in 1986. He had a wonderfully funny sense of humor filled with silliness and a youthful kind of grandpa- he had a fondness with his full head of hair being groomed by granddaughter Colleen/his love for summer trips/fishing/camper excursions to Northern WI. with several grandkids prior to his passing 1986.
He was joined eternally by daughter Dolores tragically in 1993 with wife Myrtle, and daughters Barbara and Marilyn respectively numerous years later.
