He was born September 5, 1944, in Fox, Arkansas, to William Virgil and Mildred Bilke Ticer.
He was a volunteer for the Appleton Fire Department and the Pope County Office of Emergency Management Search and Rescue. He loved woodworking, fishing, camping, reading, and classical music. More than anything, he loved learning new things.
He was preceded in death by one son, Dencil Lee Ticer; his parents, and his step-father, Kenneth Wheeler.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Ticer of Hector; one son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Liz Ticer of Kansas City, Kansas; one brother and sister-in-law, Glen Ticer and his spouse of Harrison; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many adopted family members.
The family will conduct a private memorial service at a later date.
