Helen Blevins Goodman age 92, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday January 28, 2017 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA.
Mrs. Goodman was born in WV to the late Lee Otis & Josie Hopkins Blevins.
She is also preceded in death by her husband Ralph Goodman, Sr., her son Charles R. Goodman, Jr., brother Otis “Buck” Blevins, Jr., and sister Cathleen “Tat” Cregger.
Helen was a member of the Chilhowie Senior Citizens, and the Calvary Baptist Church. She also attended Faith Fellowship.
Mrs. Goodman is survived by her daughters; Pat Goodman Sturgill & husband T.L., Jr. of Chilhowie, and Carroll Goodman Aker & husband Homer Phillip of Marion, daughter in law Sandy Goodman of Marion, grandchildren; Mike, Randy, Patricia, & David Sturgill, Mark, Scott, & Brian Aker, and Eric & Chad Goodman, great grandchildren; Matthew Aker, Kayla McCracken, Alek Aker, Nick Aker, Hayley Aker, Joseph Goodman, Erin Goodman, Rhett Sturgill, Reid Sturgill, Jeb Sturgill, Jensen Sturgill, Andrew Sturgill, Malorie Derrick, Luke & Audrey Newton, great great grandchildren; Eli Call, Ian & Ema McCracken, Bentley Derrick, & Carter Sturgill, several nieces, nephews, & other loving family also survive.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:30PM on Tuesday January 31, 2017 from the Macedonia Baptist Church in Chilhowie. Funeral services will follow with Brother Chuck Herrell, Brother Robert Blevins, & Brother David Sturgill officiating. Graveside services will be held at 12:00PM on Wednesday at the McClure Cemetery.
Family & friends are asked to meet at the cemetery or the home of Mrs. Goodman before the service.
