Jerry was an exceptional mother as well as a tireless volunteer in the community. Her career included working at Anthony's Clothing Store, Ulrich's Dress Shop, the Madison Hospital, and the Madison High School as an Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent. Her volunteer work was her hobby. It included working at Faith Lutheran Church as Head of the Altar Guild for over 30 years, Secretary of Faith Lutheran, Chairwoman of Do Day, Chairwoman of WELCA, Past President of the Madison Legion Auxiliary, Board President of the HUD services in Madison, food shelf work, funeral hostess, Co-Chair of Faith Lutheran's rummage sales, member of Faith Lutheran's County Fair committee, a member and past president of the Hospital/Lutheran Home Auxiliary. She also worked at Red Cross Blood drives, served as Election Judge for 30 years, and managed the Gift Shop at the Madison Lutheran Home for several years. Lastly, she was honored by being named Lac qui Parle County's Out-Standing Senior Citizen in 1999.
Death came to Jerry on February 27, 2013 at the Madison Lutheran Home. She had reached the age of 91 years 2 months and 29 days. Jerry is survived by her children; Dennis and wife, Judy Anderson, of Minnetrista, MN , and Bonnie and husband, Scott Ulman of Rosemount, MN; two grandsons, Reece and Trenton Anderson, one sister Darlene, and her husband Myron Reinartz of Huron, SD, one sister-in-law, Lois Polfus, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Curtis, brother Raymond and sister Norma. Blessed be her memory.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon (March 3, 2013) at the Zahrbock Funeral Home. There will be a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will continue before the services on Monday at the church.
Memorial services will be Monday, 11:00 a.m., March 4, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church in Madison. Rev. Kirk Meseck will officiate at the service. Special music will be provided by Linda Anderson, organist and Julie Hill, soloist. Spring burial will take place at a later date.1
