When Charles Beacroft Attlesey was born on November 27, 1869, in Brooklyn (New York City), Kings County, New York, his father, Robert, was 26 and his mother, Keziah, was 25. He married Olga Emily (née Geschke) on July 2, 1903. Olga had one child during her former marriage, Eleanor Hansen, whom Charles raised as his own. Charles was the son of the Brooklyn Alderman, RH Attlesey, who was friends with, and worked alongside Richard Culver, who developed the first trolley from Prospect Park to Coney Island. When his father died in 1892, Charles assumed his role as supervisor of the 9th Depot Trolley, and also was the "sons" in the RH Atttlesey & Sons Hay and Feed in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. He died on August 16, 1927, in his hometown at the age of 57.
