A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Winona Bercegeay Broussard, age 85, at 11:00 am Monday, Aug. 25, 2014 at St. Mark Catholic Church with Fr. Rubin Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memories in Gonzales. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am on Monday at St. Mark Catholic Church with a Rosary at 8:45 am.

A native and resident of Gonzales, Ms. Winona passed away at 11:47 pm on Wednesday, August 20, 2014.Ms. Brousssard was a devout Catholic who prayed the Rosary often and always put others ahead of herself.

She was also very patriotic keeping an American flag nearby and was a longtime charter member of the National WWII Museum. For fun, Ms. Broussard enjoyed watching football, especially LSU, Saints and EA Football. She also liked hot air balloons, watching Ice Skating, dancing, fishing, reading and watching old movies on TCM. Also, she was known to enjoy a good steak and margarita. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Linden Bercegeay, Sr. and Edith Braud Bercegeay; sisters, Marie Waguespack, Gwen Harris, Joyce Trosclair, Patricia Rebowe and former husband, C. Spencer Broussard.
