Gaylord Willard Miller, 80, a native of Theodore, Ala., and a resident of Daphne, passed away, Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at his home.
Mr. Miller retired from the federal government after 28 years of service, then became a homebuilder for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Miller, of Daphne; sons, Daniel Miller and his wife, Cindy, of Rochester, N.Y.; and Steven Miller and his wife, Judith, of Semmes, Ala.; sister, Emerie Elliott of Theodore; one granddaughter, Mary Maddlen Miller; one great-granddaughter, Destiny Rae Carroll; two stepgranddaughters; five stepgreat-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 10, from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne, at 6 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service, until 8.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718, www.cancer.org.
