"KILLED MOTORIST
"W.M. Stansifer, age 83, was struck by an unknown motorist about 6 o'clock in Niotaze. He died in a Caney hospital about 11 o'clock. Two men in a green colored 1934 Ford V-8 tudor sedan bearing a Missouri license tag were seen to hit Mr. Stansifer. The contact broke the left side head-light and part of the handle of the door. A reward of $200 was offered by Sheriff Green for the person driving this car.

"Mr. Stansifer is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sallie Stansifer; two sons W.A. Stansifer, of Caney, and Cash Stansifer of Moline, and four daughters; Mrs. C.C. Trick of Havana, Mrs. Essie House, of San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. Grandville Chrisman, of South Mound, Kansas, and Mrs. Cora House, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma.

"Funeral services were conducted at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Stansifer home by the Rev. W.B. McKinney, of Havana. Burial was in the Havana Cemetery under direction of the Atwood-Carinder Funeral home, of Caney.

"Mr. Stansifer was a former overseer of the Chautauqua County farm near Peru."
