Jimmy proudly served in the US Marine Corp from 1977 to 1981. He retired from Washington Gas Light Company after 33 years. Jimmy most enjoyed spending time with his family, boating and hanging with friends. His strong commitment to family and community was inspiring to all those blessed to have known him.
The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113 on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 11:00am at the South Shore Baptist Church, 725 Herald Harbor Road, Crownsville, MD 21032. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery Crownsville, Crownsville, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jimmy's Team@ http://purplestride.kintera.org/maryland/jim_burns for the walk to stomp out Pancreatic Cancer.
