John Alvin Hendricks was born June 5, 1946 in Claremore, Rogers, OK to David Calvin and Ida Leona Floyd. He was the second born out of five children. His parents were deeply in love. His father served in the army in WWII. He was stationed in Germany. They moved to Michigan where he father would later die of a heart attack. John was only 10 years old. John was married to Lynda Raye Eveland and they had three children Tracy Joann, Paul Bryan, Stacy Raquel. They divorced in 1973. He served in the Navy from June 1974 to June 1978 on the USS Kitty Hawk CV 63. He married Carolyn Crain and they had a son John Alvin Jr. John adopted Carolyn's daughter Traci Renee. He was a Reverend. He started out preaching at the Church of God, then changed to non-denomination. While he was in the Navy he became a machinist. In his lifetime he lived in OK, TX, MI, IN, WA, CA, NM. His love for music was contagious. He started playing the drums in high school and played in church up until the end of his life. He also played the guitar. A friend of his in the Navy taught him how to play. My father loved life and people. He had a good sense of humor and liked joking around. He had been fighting skin cancer and finally went to be with Jesus in December 1998. He is loved and missed by many.
