Gloria Ann West, age 80, of Rome passed away Friday, August 22, 2014 in a local hospital following a short illness.

A native of Floyd County, Mrs. West was born July 22, 1934 daughter of the late James Harvey Locklear and Louise Summerville Locklear. Mrs. West worked at Galey and Lord from 1975 until 2004 and was a Girl Scout leader for many years. She loved to sew, cook and bake. Mrs. West was preceded in death by her husband Frank B. West December 12, 1975 and her son in law Ken Madden August 10, 2014.

Survivors include her daughters and spouses Patsy Madden, Beverly and Michael Lashley, Janice and Bill Lumpkin, and Margaret (Boo) and James Casey; son James West; grandchildren Aimee (Dylan) Cole, Yvette Connell, Dana(Jonathan) Cook, LeeAnn West, Tyler West, Meredith (Jason) Brown, Colt (Samantha) Casey, Dwayne (Kasey) Madden, Beth (Ron) Madden, Logan Madden Jeff Lumpkin, and Terry Lumpkin Greatgrandchildren Lindsay Connell, Zachary Cook, Haven Casey, Luke Casey, Carson Brown, and Casey Brown. A sister Barbara Lutz and special four legged friends Charlie and Man-Man also survive.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 until 8 PM at Parnick Jennings Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue. Private cryptside services will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Reverend Bobby Stephens officiating. Please visit our website www.goodshepherdfh.net to post tributes.
