Byron E. Brown, 58, a resident of Summit, died August 16, 2014 at Country Brook Nursing Home. He was born July 15, 1956 in McComb. He was the son of Earl and Laverne Dickerson Brown of Bogue Chitto. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lenzia and Eula Clark Brown and maternal grandparents, Van and Eunice Bigner Dickerson.
He is survived by his parents; two sons, Bryant Brown of Bogue Chitto and Todd Brown of DeKalb; one daughter Lori Brown of Bogue Chitto; one brother, Lewis Brown of Bogue Chitto; three sisters, Judith Dykes of McComb, Rita Bobkoskie and husband, Edward of Bogue Chitto and Leslie Albritton and husband, Mike of Summit; six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Tuesday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church from 9AM until services at 11AM with Rev. Andrew Mayhan and Rev. Billy Joe Deer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Catchings Funeral Home in Summit.
Pallbearers will be Brad Brown, Bryant Brown, Lewis Brown, Dustin Dickerson, Shane Lofton and Jerry Burkett. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Dickerson, Neil Allred, Mike Albritton, Edward Bobkoskie, Mike Brown and Dirk Porter.
