BRIGHAM CITY - William 'Bill'Chester Sackett, 91, died June 30, 1999.
He was born July 5, 1907 in Brigham City, Utah a son of Samuel and Laura Petersen Sackett.
He married Norma Wight Oct. 30, 1930 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was an active member of the church.
He was a sergeant with the Utah Highway Patrol. For 29 years Bill was a founding member of the Box Elder Search and Rescue. He was also a member of the Brigham City Fire Department and the Utah Sheriff's Assn.
After his wife and family, fishing was the love of his life, along with camping in his trailer.
Surviving are his wife, Norma; his son, Richard (Dick) and Janice Sackett, Loga, Utah; two grandchildren, Sydnee and Julianne; and three great-grandchildren, Brittney, Teara, and Bronson.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City 9th LDS Ward, 236 E. 100 S., Brigham City, Utah. Friends may call Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigam City, Utah and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 at the Church.
Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
