Cause of Death: Jun 16, 1925, Pulmonary Tuberculosis per Death Certificate: Jun 16, 1925, Year 1925, KY Cert. # 20300. Burial: Jun 17, 1925, Bowman Cemetery, Sugar Camp, Owsley County, Kentucky. He was the son of Elisha Bowman and Mary Mahulda Phillips. He married Mary Ann Stevens Apr 1870. She was born Mar 09, 1854 in Perry County, Kentucky, and died Feb 04, 1919 in Kentucky. She was the daughter of George Stevens and Susan Blevins.

Served in Company A 14th Calvary, Company H Kentucky Mounted Infantry and Company C Three Forks Battalion. Transferred to U.S. Service on April 20, 1865. Applied for a Military Pension on March 15, 1888 in Kentucky. Application # 644535, Certificate # 514829.
