Lawrence B. "Larry" Knight, 81, a native of New Orleans and resident of Thibodaux, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Thibodaux. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.
He is survived by his sons, Keith Knight and wife, Wanda, Rodney Knight and wife, Darlene, Jeffrey Knight and wife, Denise, and Douglas Knight and wife, Renee; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Freddie Knight Jr., Karen Guillot, and Michael Knight.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Huot Knight; parents, Freddie Knight Sr. and Irene Rodrigue Knight; and siblings, Richard and twin brother, Jerry Knight.
Lawrence was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He received the Korean Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars and the UN Service Medal Distinguished Unit Citation.
The family would like to thank his caregivers, Dina Guidry, Joann Naquin and Achsah Chiasson for their care.
Landry's Funeral Home in Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.
