Dale Blanton, 52 of Wabd. died. Nov 25, 1986 at Berea Hospital after a long illness.
He was born on May 18, 1934 in Rockcastle County, the son of Carter and Sallye Hensley Blanton of Wabd. He was a maintenance man with the Trane Company in Lexington, a veteran of the Korean War, and a member and deacon of the Maretburg Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to his parents are his wife, Doris Nicely Blanton of Wabd; a son, Benny Dale Blanton of Wabd; a daughter, Mrs. Jennifer Gail Brock of Brodhead: two brothers, Jack Blanton of Brodhead and Donald Lee Blanton of Wabd: a sister, Mrs. Dayne Baldwin of Crab Orchard, several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Nov. 28 at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Don Cummins and Don Jones officiating. Burial was in Maretburg Cemetery. Cox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Ernest Lakes, Ray Hayes, William E. Harris, Ben French, Charles Bunch, Jones O. Hamm and Johnny Adams.
