Mary Towne

CRESWELL - The graveside service will be held March 9 for Mary Elizabeth Towne of Creswell, who died March 5 of lymphatic cancer. She was 76.

Towne was born April 13, 1928, in Oakridge, to Francis and Flora Warner Dompier. She married Howard Towne on July 21, 1946, in Bend.

She graduated from Oakridge High School in 1945. She was a homemaker and also had worked for Sears. Towne enjoyed sewing, gardening, swimming and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She lived in Creswell for 20 years.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Carol Roush of Springfield and Joyce Towne of Eugene; a sister, Agnes Olson of Oakridge; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Wednesday's service will be held at 11 a.m. at Springfield Memorial Gardens.
