The family story passed down concerning Isabell's death is as follows: Isabell was home alone with her 11 month old son when a big November storm came up. She saw through the window that the chickens were out in it with a bunch of baby chicks. She ran out to gather them safely inside the henhouse and shortly afterward became sick and died. Her mother raised son William Archie. Husband Tom remarried and had more children.
