of her husband, Arthur, in 1932 … She was well known for cattle herds

A native of Crawford County, she lived in Columbus from 1906 to 1916 and
owned and operated the former Commercial Hotel in Columbus for two years …
She also owned a Columbus grocery store eight years …
She had participated in Republican party activities in Jennings County and was an
active member of the National Federation of Republican Women …
Mrs. Hutton, a charter member of the North Vernon Business and Professional
Women’s Club, served 15 years as secretary of the county library board …
Since 1916 she was a member of the North Vernon Methodist Church and for
