Psalms 116:15 "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints"
Pamela Jean Dotson Baker Fields, age 56, of McCarr, KY got a most gracious welcome to her heavenly home on August 21, 2014 at 4:45 a.m. She caught her flight from Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY and was accompanied to the preplanned destination Heaven by a most special angel, her dad, Berton Baker. Many others were anxiously waiting her arrival and joyfully waived her onward as she arrived at the entrance of Glory land.
She was married to her first and only love for 37 years, Jimmy Dale Fields. This union was blessed and brought forth two children, Adriana Karol Fields Hackney and Barry Dustin Fields. It was further blessed by the addition of their mates, Kevin Hackney and Antonia Fields. Special gifts that brought much happiness to Pam were added with the birth of her grandchildren Cameron Isaiah Fields, Malachi Trey Fields, Kaidynce Jade Hackney and Preston Case Fields.
She was the firstborn daughter of Shelva Jean and Kermit Dotson. Due to a premature passing of Kermit when she was only a few years old, she was given a father by God's design that birthed her in his heart and loved being her dad, Berton Baker. She has four siblings whom with their own mates, children and grandchildren adore her and are listed as follows:
Yvonna Carol and Bernie Keith Fields, Kayla and Timmy Norman, and Gabriel Jace Norman. Barry and Mary Katherine Baker, Samantha Lillian Baker and Chris Frederick, and Aleigha Katherine Baker. Lawanna and Charles McGuire, Charles Brandon and Amy McGuire, Charles Westin McGuire, Whitley Elise McGuire, Jeana and Justin Bradford. Doyle and Valerie Baker, Joshua and Mellissa Baker (and soon to be born Adelynn Jean), and Keaton Baker.
Ever so dear and special to her are her beloved Jessie (Junior) Dotson, Aunt Monica and Uncle Lacey Ferrell, and the cousins who instead she called nephews Kyle (Nancy) Ferrell, David (Missy) Ferrell, Lacey Kyle Ferrell, special also are Ciara Ferrell, Braden Ferrell, and Aunt Lavada Lester Bentley.
Her life was blessed with her best friend Para Belcher who is a sister by choice, not by birth.
She was preceded in death by her above mentioned fathers (Kermit Dotson and Berton Baker), her maternal grandparents Hansel and Lillian Lester, and paternal grandparents Pearl and Walter Baker. To whom honor is due, honor is given. Jim Fields, Pastor of Faith Mission in Jesus Name Church was blessed to have Pam as his first lady. Her entire life was devoted to serving God first, her family, friends, and community second, and herself always last.
The Excellent Woman Proverbs 31:10-28
10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. 11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. 13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. 14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. 15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. 16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. 17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. 18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. 19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. 20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. 22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. 23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. 24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. 25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. 26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. 27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
The world was a better place with her in it, and Heaven too is a bit sweeter with her there.
