Jane Wells, 89, passed away early Friday, August 22, 2014 in Austin, Texas.

Jane Stedje Wells was born in Anaheim, CA on October 31, 1924, to Russell and Irene Weinheimer. She graduated from Huntington Beach High School in 1942, and she then attended a business school. Jane was hired by Southern California Edison Company where she worked as the executive administrative assistant. She met Clifford Stedje and they married on May 20, 1950. They had three children, Nancy Irene, Linda Clara and Steven Russell.

Jane enjoyed knitting, cross stitch and Hardanger, a Norwegian sewing hand work. She was a co-owner of The Crewel World in Guymon, Ok. She also enjoyed the Hobby Club in Gruver for many years. Clifford passed away September 26, 1970 and Jane raised the three children on the farm in the Oslo Community. In 1983, Jane’s parents needed someone to stay with them so Jane moved back to California to care for them. Jane re-married in August 9, 1986 to Robert (Bob) Wells. Jane remained in California doing volunteer work in the Huntington Beach area and serving in the Calvary Baptist Church. She began having health concerns and moved to a retirement / assisted living home in Austin in 2009 to be near Nancy who faithfully cared for her.

Jane was preceded in death by Clifford Stedje; her parents, Russell and Irene Weinheimer; her second husband, Bob Wells; her sister, Irene Clancy, and brother, Ralph Weinheimer. She is survived by her children, Nancy and husband, Edward Pier of Austin; Linda and husband, Joe Weaver of San Angelo, TX; and Steve Stedje and wife, Derryla, of Gruver; six grandchildren, Nick Pier, and wife, Stephanie; Chris Pier and wife, Katie; Joi Weaver, Anne Weaver, Lauree Beth Stedje, Brianne Stedje, and one great-grandchild, Cora Pier.

Jane leaves behind many friends and relatives, from California to Texas and beyond, she will be missed but we rest assured that she is celebrating with those who have gone on before us and enjoying the meeting of our Savior!

Funeral services will be Saturday morning, August 30th, 10:00 AM at the Oslo Lutheran Church with Pastor Arlen Lloyd and Rev. Pat Cottrell, officiating. Interment will follow at the Oslo Cemetery. Services are under the care of Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, Guymon.
