Funeral services for Lois Vaden Dickens, age 65, of Woodhaven, Michigan, and foremly of Smith County, were conducted on Wednesday, April 2, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. from the Carthage chapel of Bass Funeral Homes with Elder Charles Allen Gentry officiating. Interment was in the Dickens Cemetery at Maggart. Mrs. Dickens passed away on March 29, 1997 in Orlando, Florida.

Mrs. Dickens was a daughter of the late Elbert and Alice Leora Harris Vaden. She was married to Hershel Wilson (Bill) Dickens, who survives. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Salem Baptist Church.

Mrs. Dickens is survived by her husband, Bill Dickens, of Woodhaven, Michigan; two sons, Richard Dickens, of Flat Rock, Michigan and Randall Dickens, of Blue Lake Township, Michigan; brother, Ernest Mack Vaden, of Madera, California; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Bush, of Gordonsville, Mrs. Grace Dickens, of Nashville and Mrs. Carolyn Elliott, of Hermitage; two grandsons, Korey Dickens and Nicholas Dickens.
