son of John Stewart and Elizabeth Murray both born in Prince Edward Island.

He and Henrietta had 5 children that I know of:
Etta, Dora, Robert, Nellie and Lillial or Lillian. When Henrietta died, Alexander married her sister, Elizabeth 17 October 1889.

The Missouri Transportation Company was incorporated July 25, 1881, with Henry Clay Ewing (1828-1907), Henry Watkins Ewing (1849-1898), Charles S. Robey, Perin Kay (1837-1903) and Alexander Stewart (1837-1916), members.
