Mr. Jimmy Clayton Newton, age 61, went to be with the Lord on August 20, 2014. He was born on March 23, 1953 in Ashdown, Arkansas to J. D. and Cora Mears Newton.

He was a member of the Provo Volunteer Fire Department for 28 years, and EMT for 22 years. He was active in Little League and was an umpire for the ASA and DYB for 25 years. He served as a Hunters Ed Instructor for 22 years. Jimmy worked for Weyerhaeuser for 22 years and Coca Cola for four years. Jimmy was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Fort Towson, Oklahoma. He joined the Navy straight out of school in 1972, serving during the Vietnam War and was a Christian.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Cora Newton and brother-in-law, Bobby Bradshaw.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jonnie Lynn David Newton of Provo, three daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda and Jason Miller of Provo, Onawa and James Hughes of De Queen, and T. J. Newton of Provo, 11 grandchildren, Tyler, Jasie, Austin Miller all of Provo, Jonathan Buchanan, Corey and Nikki Hughes, Quentin and Taran McAllister of De Queen, Andrew and Hateya Newton of Provo and Autumn McAllister of Foreman, his father, J. D. Newton of Provo, a sister, Wannell Bradshaw of Provo, his nieces, Mindy, Kimmi, and Kaylee Simmons of Provo, his nephew and family, Chad, Carmella, Brittany, Adam and Blake Bradshaw of Provo, a host of family, friends, and extended family of Provo, VFD. He will be missed dearly by all. Jimmy was full of life and he loved helping everyone, he enjoyed spending time with family, friends, hunting, fishing, sports and drinking coffee and pepsi.

Funeral Services for Mr. Jimmy Newton will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 23, 2014 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Fry officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the McHorse Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
