Sarah was born in Newark, Licking Co. Ohio. Her father, Hon. Isaac Green, was a native of Licking county and represented his district in Congress for two terms beginning in 1842.. Her mother, Elizabeth Brown was a native of Madison Co., Ky. In 1847, the family moved from Licking Co., Ohio to Crawford Co., Illinois. In 1850, her father followed the gold rush to California and died from typhoid fever just three weeks after arriving. He is buried in Georgetown, California. On Oct 20, 1857, Sarah, married Levi Wilkin, and in November, 1858 just a month before Levi died she gave birth to a daughter, Marion. Sarah then married Johnny Jones, date unknown. In the 1870 census, she was living with her mother, Elizabeth Green, daughter, Marion Wilkin, and a niece Millie Green, in Denver, Colorado Territory. In the 1880, census, she was living in Bates, Arkansas keeping house for two nephews. Sarah returned to Denver, Colorado and lived there until she died March 20, 1893. There is no grave marker.
