Ingolf Ole Satre, of Albert Lea, died on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea where he had been a resident for the past nine years. He was 89.

He was born on Nov. 15, 1915, in Alcester, S.D., the son of Hans and Malina Satre. He moved with his family to the Moscow area at the age of 15. He attended rural country school. Ole served our country in the U.S. Army from 1940 until July of 1945. He married Maxine Knotts Shaman in Austin. He worked in the Austin area and then lived in California where he worked for a janitorial service.

In 1983 he returned to the Albert Lea area. He was a member of the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church. Ole was also a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and the D.A.V.

He enjoyed music, dancing, fishing, and making things out of wood.

He is survived by his wife, Ida of Albert Lea; four children; two stepchildren; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four sisters; two sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maxine; brothers: Clarence, Selmer and Irvin Satre; and sisters: Sylvia Stoen and Johanna Gullickson.
