Dana Phillips, 90, of Jefferson City passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at his residence. He was retired from the New Jersey Zinc Mines, and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin Phillips, and Burnettie Byrd, grandson Joseph Shampine, sisters Reba(Lloyd) Jarnigan, Janice(Andy) Turley, brothers Arvil Phillips, Walter Phillips, Eunice(Bertie) Phillips, brothers-in-law Ephraim Phillips, and Phil Pollard.
He is survived by his daughters Betty(JE) Bunch, Frances Shampine(Walter Gibson), grandson David Long(Ashley), granddaughter Brittany Shampine, Great-grandchildren; Taylor and Braden Long, Macie Cox, and Carter Baldy. Sister-in-law Bennie Phillips, nieces Diane Ball, Peggy Jarnigan, Carolyn Tester , Nephews Delmar, Lloyd J. and Johnny Phillips, and Brian Pollard, also very special caregivers Romona and Jaycee Byrge and Mike Phillips.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 22, 2014 at 7:00PM with Rev. Allen Brooks officiating at Mayes Family Services West Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:00AM at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
