Harold Cox was born on a farm near Knoxville, April 22, 1893, and died suddenly in the same house in which he was born, on the evening of Nov. 24, 1949, at the age of 56 years, 7 months and 2 days.
He lived his entire life near Knoxville, with the exception of a few months spent in California as a boy. He graduated from the Knoxville high school and studied at Iowa State college. He united with the church as a boy and at the time of his death was a member of the First Presbyterian church.
On Sept. 5, 1917 he was united in marriage to Bessie Randol, who survives him. Also surviving is one son, Donald and two small grandsons, Ronald Dean and John Harold; and his aged mother, Mrs. Sue Cox. Two sons, John and Paul preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Saturday Nov. 26, at 2:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Roger Brasten. Interment was in Graceland cemetery.
