E. Agnes Humphrey of Bellingham, WA died August 18, 2014 from Alzheimer's disease. She was 90 years old.

Aggie was born on June 6, 1924 in Zurich, KS, to Eli Balthazor and Simonne Choquette. She grew up in Campbell, NE, and after graduating high school, went on to attend nursing school through the Army Nurse Corps at St. Elizabeth's in Lincoln, NE.

Aggie met her husband, Mike Humphrey, of Casper, WY, at USO dance in 1945 and were married on October 17, 1946, when he returned from World War II. They began their married life in Casper where Mike worked for Mobil.

His career moved their growing family to Australia for two years and then eventually back to the states where they settled in Bellingham, WA. After their children were raised, Mike's career once again took them overseas where they lived in Saudi Arabia for seven years. They were able to travel through Europe, Asia, and parts of the Middle East.

Aggie was a devout Catholic and was actively involved in Church of the Assumption in Bellingham. She enjoyed playing bridge and dominoes with friends as well as clogging and square dancing.

Mike and Aggie wintered in Mesa, AZ, when Mike retired. Aggie loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. She enjoyed laughing and smiling each and every day.

Aggie is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Mike; daughters: Susan (James) Allen, Deb (Dale) Yamamoto and Janine Humphrey; four grandchildren: Donald Allen, Stephanie (Randy) Hartmann, Tori Yamamoto (Mike Wimpee) and Kenny Yamamoto; nieces, cousins, neighbors and friends.

Aggie was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings.

A Vigil Service will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 20 at 6:30p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Assumption on Thursday, August 21 at 10:30a.m. with a reception following. Fr. K. Scott Connolly will be officiating. There will be a private burial at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Highgate Senior Living for their excellent care of Aggie.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to the Western and Central Washington Alzheimer's Association at http://www.alz.org/alzwa/.
