DOYLE, Laura (Blaska) - Of Mt. Morris, age 85, died Sunday, October 15, 2006 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11AM Thursday, October 19, 2006, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Laura's family will be present to receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris on Tuesday from 4PM to 9PM and Wednesday from 11AM to 3PM and again from 5PM to 9PM. On Wednesday evening, family, friends and parish will gather at the funeral home for a Scripture Service at 6PM. On Thursday morning, Laura will be taken to church to lie in state from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the North End Soup Kitchen or Catholic Outreach for Sr. Claudia. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Laura was born August 6, 1921 in Detroit, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Mary (Prieur) Metevier. She and John R. Blaska were united in marriage March 23, 1940 in Flint. He preceded her in death in 1961. She would then meet and marry Joseph M. Doyle June 12, 1965 in Mt. Morris. He preceded her in death in 1984. Laura worked as a receptionist at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris for many years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris, where she served both Genesys Regional Medical Center and St. Joseph's Hospital as a Eucharistic Minister and she was also a member of the Secular Order of St. Francis. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Bonnie and husband George Hetzer, Diane and husband Jim Jacobs, Cheri and husband Robert Johnston, John Blaska, Anne and husband Joseph Doyle, Michael and wife Martha Blaska, Mark Doyle and Star; son-in-law, L. G. Penoyer; her cherished 25 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Albert Metevier, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Laura was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, John and Joseph; daughter, Jean Blaska Penoyer; grandson, Mark Doyle, Jr.; and great-grandson, Nicholas Bradshaw; and many brothers and sisters.
