Agnes Marr Stinnette
Agnes Marr Stinnette, 84, of Altavista died Monday, August 18, 2014 at Autumn Care of Altavista. She was the wife of the late John Edward Stinnette, Jr. She was born October 10. 1929 in Pittsylvania County, a daughter of the late Victor Adams Marr and Elsie Robertson Marr.
She was a member of Mount Hermon United Methodist Church and a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing and horses.
She is survived by her wonderful caregivers, a niece, Sandra Dooley of Altavista and a nephew, Brian Marr of Gretna; six sisters, Phyllis Witt (Bill) of Bedford, Roberta Morton (Drever) and Jean DeJarnette (Ronnie) all of Lynchburg, Alta Creasy of Altavista, Edith Barker (Harold) of Hurt and Linda Worsham (Mike) of Wilmington, N.C. and two brothers, Donald Marr (Linda) of Rustburg and James Marr (Anne) of Altavista. Also surviving is a special friend, Nancy Andrews of Altavista; a nephew, Marty Hutcherson (Beth) of Altavista; a niece Melinda Paull and her daughter, Malorey of Hurt and a number of additional nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Fox, Mildred Hutcherson and Helen Kelley.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Finch & Finch Chapel, Altavista by the Rev. Roger Wilborn with interment to follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., Wednesday at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista and other times at the residence of Sandra Dooley, 1611 Melinda Drive, Altavista.
