LAWRENCE N GUARINO of Melbourne, FL. Larry was a 33 year, U.S. Air Force veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was shot down and forced to eject over North Vietnam, was captured and taken prisoner, spending the next 2,801 days in captivity. He was awarded the nation's second highest award, the Air Force Cross, also the Distinguished Service Medal, two Silver Stars, a Legion of Merit, two Distinguished Flying Crosses and two Purple Hearts. He authored "A P.O.W.'s STORY: 2801 DAYS IN HANOI" about his experience. In retirement, he ran a charter sport fishing boat service and engaged in local real estate development. Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Evelyn; sons, Allan, Thomas, Jeffery and wives, Maureen, Jan, Carolyn and Mary; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held August 23, 2014 at Florida Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Rockledge, FL. Published in the Florida Today August 20, 2014
