Graveside service for Deanna L. Martin, 71, of Emmett, who died at home on Saturday, August 16, will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, August 21 at the Emmett Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Chapel Emmett. Deanna was born on July 27, 1943 at Southwest City, Oklahoma to Payton and Ussona Barnes Schell. She moved with her family as a small child to Sandpoint, Idaho where she was reared and educated, graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1961. She married Harvey Martin on September 17, 1962 at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They made their home in Emmett since that time. She worked for Boise Cascade for 27 years. She was involved with the Black Canyon Riders in the 1970's. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, knitting and golf. Deanna is survived by her husband Harvey of Emmett, children: John (Mary) Martin of Houston, TX., Debra Lewis of Nampa, and Daniel (Carlene) Martin of Emmett, a brother Johnny (Lee) Schell of Sandpoint, ID., sisters: Catherine (Andy) Carothers of Spokane, WA., Darlene (Hugh) Limbaugh and Radine Burch both of Sandpoint, ID., 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a nephew, and a son-in-law. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Alphonsus Cancer Center in Caldwell, or Heart'n Home Hospice in Emmett. .
