Mr. Gene Edward Brewer, 68 of Monroe, NC died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at his home. Funeral Services will be held 2pm Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 501 P.E. Bazemore Dr., Monroe, NC, Reverend Larry W. Leak, Pastor, Eulogist, Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Monroe, NC.
Born August 24, 1944 a son of the late Margaret Brewer Barbour and William B. Covington, Sr. and he was raised by the late Hoyle Brewer, Sr. and Waunita Livingston Brewer.
Gene attended Winchester Avenue School and was a Auto Mechanic by trade and he loved to work on Cars. He was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where he loved his Pastor and Church family.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Grandparents and three brothers; Charles Barbour, Johnny Barbour and William Junoir Covington.
