Kathryn “Kay” Timlin Russell, 91, of Charleroi, died on Aug. 15, 2014. She was born on Dec. 24, 1922, in Roscoe, to the late John and Ida Hall Timlin. She was married to Anthony V. Russell on June 26, 1943, in St. Matthew Cathedral, Washington, D.C. After their marriage. they made their home in Charleroi for almost 70 years. She is survived by a son, Anthony M. Russell, of Pittsburgh; daughter, Dottie Taylor, of Charleroi, with whom she made her home after her husband’s death; four grandchildren, Jennifer Russell (Bill) Satler, of Pittsburgh; Vincent (Maria) Russell, of Ohio, Michael (Lisa) Taylor, of Bentleyville, and Kimberly Taylor, of Gettysburg; 11 great-grandchildren, Noah, Katherine, and Caroline Satler, Vito, Vivian, and Josie Russell, Brendan, Bradley, Bryan, and Tessa Taylor, and Takara Behanna; brother, John P. (Joan) Timlin, of Coal Center; cousins, Marjorie Ferguson, Josephine Hall, Marian McGurk, and Judy (Bill) Package; special niece, Barb Gismondi; many nieces and nephews; and extended family, Margaret Russell and Connie Russell. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Anthony V. Russell on April 1, 2013; infant son, Paul Vincent Russell on Dec. 19, 1950; sisters, Dorothy Timlin Zubritsky and MaryLou Timlin Kent; and son-in-law, James C. Taylor Jr. in 2003. Kathryn worked at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. for the War Production Board, G. C. Murphy’s, St. Jerome’s Cafeteria, and Connie’s Deli. She was a Den mother, Brownie leader, and Girl Scout leader. Kay loved making novelty birthday cakes for family and friends, calligraphy, knitting, crocheting, and crafts. She enjoyed helping take care of her four grandchildren and going to her Friday night bowling league. She belonged to the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Mary Ellen O’Neil Division, Washington County, and Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Charleroi 669, for 61 years. She was named Mother of the Year in 1999 for CD of A. She also belonged to Christian Mothers. Friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, in Mary, Mother of the Church, Charleroi, followed by a funeral procession to Calvary Cemetery. The CARL J.
