Raymond Sims
Raymond Lee Sims, 82, of Ooltewah, died on Tuesday, February 18, 2014.
A native of Harrison, he had been a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area.
He was a member of the East Chattanooga Church of God where he served on the
Pastors Council for many years and also served as a Sunday School teacher. He
was retired from Woodbridge Manufacturing.
He was the son of the late Arnold and Ivey Sims, and was also preceded in death
by his wife, Lois Cook Sims and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Susie (Bill) Owens, Ooltewah, Lynette (Patrick)
Jordan, Chattanooga; son Roy (Nancy) Sims, Ooltewah; granddaughter, Stephanie
(Roger) Lamunyon; four grandsons, Anthony (Kristi) Sims, Patrick (Kyndall) Sims,
Jeremy (Jennifer) Owens, Bryce McDaniel; three great-grandchildren, Julie
Lamunyon, Brooklynn Sims and Nicholas McDaniel; sister Joyce (Bill) Mooney,
Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, in the Valley View
Chapel with the Reverend Don Glenn and the Reverend Fred Smith officiating.
