Daughter of James F. New and Charity Jane Tayes (1834-1922). Married James Henry Highfill on 07 AUG 1881 at the Bethel M. E. Church by Rev. Robert L. Thompson in Scotland County, Missouri.

Mrs. Marv Etta Highfill, 82, of 720 State, died in her home Sunday noon. She was born in Sullivan county, Mo., May 8, 1863, a daughter of James Francis and
Charity Jane Taze [sic] New. She lived in Scotland county, Mo., for several years and had been a resident of Quincy since 1922. She was a member of Central Baptist church and was married to James Henry Highfill, Aug. 7, 1881. Mr. Highfill died Dec. 19, 1921.
Surviving are three children, Ray New Highfill of Liberty, Mo., Miss Letty Mav Highfill and Miss Maggie Zoe Highfill at home, and six grandchildren.
