He was a self employed Paint Contractor for almost 45 years and owned and operated a paint store in Gainesville during that time. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, camping and spending time at his place on the river with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Jeanette Hellinger of Lindsay; children and their spouses; Natalie and Douglas Hess of Lindsay, Adrienne and Cody Martin of Lindsay, Angela and Dave Smith of Ft Worth, Craig and Jeannie Hellinger of Lindsay, and Danah and Jimmy Dennison of Lindsay.
Siblings and their spouses; Mary Ann and Lee Tischler of Whitesboro, Nelda Vicari of Montague, Milferd and Betty Hellinger of Walnut Bend, Sister-in-law Clara Hellinger of Lindsay, Janice and Steven Yosten of Muenster, Joyce and Tom Yosten of Denton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents and brothers James and Larry Hellinger; nephews Troy Hellinger, and Devon Vicari; and niece Jenny Yosten. A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, August 22, 2014 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Kyle Waltersheid officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Peter’s Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A rosary with visitation to follow will be held at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Peter's Church Restoration Fund.
