Funeral services for William Ewart Bawn, 80, will begin with prayers at 9:30 a.m. Monday, at Smith Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine, and proceed to St. Theresa Church, where a Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Born Jan. 20, 1923, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. Mr. Bawn worked for CenTel as an installer/repairman for 20 years. He was a member of the IBEW for 40 years and was a volunteer coach with the Senior Net in Palatine. William enjoyed gadgets and fixing things. He was also a veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lois (nee Winklebauer); children, William Ewart Jr. (Nancy) Bawn, Mary Susan (Michael) Sieczkowski and the late Robert Allen Bawn; grandchildren, Heather, Ian, Meghan, Lauren, John and Cathlyn; and great-grandfather of Emily and David Jr. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Theresa School, 455 N. Benton St., Palatine, IL 60067. Friends may visit www.dailyherald.com/obits to express condolences and sign the guest book.
