Clyde William Brooks, 73, of Seymour, IN, passed away at his home in Jennings County on Wednesday, August 13, 2014.

Clyde was born on June 18, 1941 in Jackson County, IN, the son of William Kenneth "Tom" and Evelyn Mae (Easter) Brooks. Clyde graduated from Shields High School in 1961 and was married to Dorothy Jean Murphy on July 15, 1961 in Henryville. She preceded him in death in 2000.

Clyde farmed all his life and also retired from Cummins Engine Co. in 2006 after 37 years of service. He loved to farm, enjoyed woodworking and caring for his animals.

He is survived by his son, Buck (Karen) Brooks of Seymour; daughters, Barbara (Erik) Applewhite of Seymour and Corinnia (Randy) Bryant of Franklin, IN; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

His parents, wife, brother, Hubert Gene "George" Brooks and a granddaughter, Autumn Faye Applewhite preceded him in death.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2014, at Reddington Cemetery where Rev. Stan Thomas will officiate.

Memorials can be given in Clyde's name to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
