Debra Sue LeGate Burns passed away on August 14, 2014 at her home. She was born June 23, 1957 in Joplin, Missouri to Orville (Jim) & Helen LeGate. Debra graduated from Van Horn High School in 1975. She married Richard Burns on January 21, 1989. She is survived by her children, Skylar & Samantha Burns of Lee’s Summit, MO; her sister, Colleen Chatfield of Kansas City,MO; many nieces, nephews and cousins and a large extended family. Debra was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her parents, Orville (Jim) & Helen and her mother-in-law, Dixie Burns. Memorial services will be 4:00 pm on Friday, August 22, 2014 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Stine & McClure Chapel, 3235 Gillham Plaza, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be from 3-4 pm on Friday at the chapel prior to the service. Inurnment will be on Saturday, August 23rd at 10:00 am at Yankee Ridge Cemetery in Ridgeway, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to a fund which is being set up.
