Florence M. Totten, 95, Amazonia, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 at a local hospital.

She was born February 20, 1919 in Graham, Mo., to Clyde and Cecil (Massengale) Payne.

She married Frank Totten on January 24, 1942 in Oregon, Mo., and he preceded her in death.

Florence served in the U.S. Women's Army Auxilary Corps during World War II.

Florence loved to go to dances and spent a lot of time quilting and cooking. Her biggest joy was being with her grandchildren.

Florence was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Karen Stagner; sisters, Blanch Heidtbrink, Jeannie Bechter, Mary DeWar; brothers, Ralph Payne and Dawson "Red" Payne; and a great-grandson, Cory Funk.

Survivors include her daughter, Anita (Bob) McQuiston, Amazonia; step-daughter, Jean (Ron) Schweizer, Amazonia; son-in-law, James Stagner, Agency, Mo.; grandchildren, Kim (Mike) Scanlan, Craig Schweizer, Kettra Stagner, Angela (Pat) Pritchett, Kerri Jo Stagner, R.C. (Tami) McQuiston and Jeanette (Craig) Gillette; 18 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel, Savannah, Mo. Interment: Prarie Home Cemetery, Graham, Mo., with full military honors.
