SARAH PEATROSS MEDIO

RALEIGH, NC -- Sarah Medio, 90, of Whitaker Glenn Retirement Community, in Raleigh, NC, died on July 28.

Sarah was born to John Franklin and Beatrice Tyson Peatross and grew up on Brooklyn Street in Raleigh. She was a chemist with Hercules Research Program, and worked in Military Welfare Services and as a Field Secretary for the American Red Cross.

She was married to William Blake and was a science teacher. Sarah was past president of the Pender County Teachers Association, was president of Cape Fear Valley Teachers Association, and president of Cape Fear Lung Association. She was selected by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration to write Space Science Educational Media Resources - A Guide for Junior High School Teachers. Sarah was a graduate of Meredith College and continued her studies in chemistry at NC State University. After the death of William Blake, she married Mario Medio of NY City.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her brothers John Wiliford, Joseph Marion, and Oscar Franklin Peatross; and her sisters Edith Peatross Rodgers, and Rachel Peatross Pattishall. She is survived by one sister, Martha Peatross Hall of Raleigh and several nieces and nephews.
