Connie Bolton, age 81, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Connie was born August 29, 1932 near Carson, Iowa the daughter of Harold and Pearl (Terrell) Byers. She graduated from Carson High School in 1950 and was united in marriage to Irvin Bolton on September 25, 1950 on the family farm at Carson, Iowa. They lived on farms in the Macedonia and Henderson area before moving to the Emerson Farm where they lived for 50 years and raised their family. Connie was a longtime Hawthorne United Methodist Church member where she taught Sunday School and was a member of UMW serving as president. She was also a founding member of the Tag-A-Long Booster Club in Red Oak and was a wonderful cook.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Irvin Bolton on July 24, 2009; daughters: Mary Ellen and Susan Diane; and a granddaughter: Angela Eggers. Survivors include her children: Gwendolyn Eggers and husband Greg of Carson, IA; Patricia Hacker and husband Rod of Oskaloosa, IA; Gerald Bolton and wife Kathy of Griswold, IA; Carolyn Bolton of Red Oak, IA; Amy Confer and husband Kerry of Emerson, IA; Julie Bolton of Red Oak, IA; and Michael Bolton of Shenandoah, IA; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brothers: Robert Byers of Henderson, IA and James Byers and wife Kay of Griswold, IA; sisters: Bernadine Shiffer of Sidney, IA and Cheradel McKee of Menisee, CA; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, August 21, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Red Oak with Pastor Terry McClain officiating. Burial will be prior to the funeral at the Carson, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Hawthorne United Methodist Church.
