Eva M. Hoskins, age 89, of Henderson County, passed away at the Burlington Care Center in Burlington, Iowa on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 5:45 am. Eva was born on August 29, 1924 in Lock Ridge, Iowa and is the daughter of Zach and Maude Nichols Hathaway. She was raised and educated in Henderson County. Eva married John Hoskins on February 14, 1952 in Dallas City, Illinois. He preceded her in death. Eva was a homemaker in her own home and enjoyed tending to her children and family. She enjoyed reading, taking care of the kids, and playing dominos. She is survived by her daughters Carol Nelson of Ottawa, Kansas; Eva (Greg) Scanlin of Keokuk, Iowa; and Judy Myers of Salem, Iowa. One son survives, John Hoskins, Jr. of Biggsville, Illinois. There are numerous Grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Her sister, Rosalee Livingston also survives in Joplin, Missouri. She is preceded in her death by her parents, husband, two sons, Randy Hoskins and Don Hathaway, and her daughter, Tina Louise Hoskins.

Services: A viewing/visitation hour is planned on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, IL from the Noon hour to 3:00 pm. No other service arrangements are planned presently. A fellowship gathering is then planned following at the Biggsville Community Center in Biggsville, IL., at 4:00 pm by her family following the visitation. Cremation is then to be accorded and her ashes will be interred in the Biggsville Cemetery at a later date. A memorial fund is being established by her family to defray expenses.
